Journey into Diversity
Today, the United States is more diverse than at any point in its history. Yet, despite this diversity, many Americans still live in segregated communities and interact socially with people most like themselves. For these people, the workplace typically offers the only opportunity to interact with people culturally distinct from themselves. For others, the workplace is a microcosm of the larger society, where they constantly struggle for respect, equitable treatment and inclusion.

For employers, securing and respecting a diverse workplace is beneficial for all employees - regardless of their positions. By using the knowledge and life experiences that each employee brings with her - or himself to the workplace, employers can improve communication, create a more inclusive climate and foster teamwork and innovation.

Journey into Diversity is a series of customized programs that assist organizations in their efforts to create work environments where employees have an acceptance of co-workers, regardless of backgrounds and to enhance employees' working relationships (team building). Specifically, training will raise awareness of and encourage personal growth regarding unconscious biases towards different ethnic, cultural, gender and sexual orientation groups. Staff will leave the training with a better understanding of multiculturalism and pluralism and their own attitudes towards difference and be better prepared to foster inclusive workplace environments.
